South Lake Primary School (PS) is looking to appoint an exceptional Science – Primary Teacher to join our team.
We are seeking a teacher with strong understanding of the Western Australian Curriculum and teaching expertise to plan and implement a high-quality and motivating science program to students from Years 1 – 6.
The successful applicant will join a collaborative working culture with active involvement of all staff. The ideal applicant should possess excellent communication, organisational and interpersonal skills that allow the building and maintenance of collaborative and respectful partnerships across the school and the wider community that re-enforce the culture of support, care and belonging.
Engaging all students through differentiation and clear learning intentions will be highly regarded. Adaptability skills and the ability to utilise technology within the Science learning area would be advantageous. The successful applicant should have sound behaviour management skills, a passion for sustainability, and a willingness to implement South Lake PS whole school approaches.
At South Lake PS, whole of school approaches are considered essential to improved outcomes in student learning and successful whole of school curriculum planning and a collaborative culture with the active involvement of all staff in school planning and decision making is promoted.

This selection process will initially be used to fill the above vacancy. Applicants assessed as suitable during this selection process may be considered for other similar vacancies that occur throughout our school for up to 12 months following this initial appointment. This includes circumstances where this position becomes subsequently vacant should the successful applicant decline or vacate the advertised position.

- Professional engagement.

ELIGIBILITY
Employees will be required to:
- provide evidence of eligibility to work in Australia for the term of the vacancy;
- obtain a current Department of Education Criminal Record Clearance prior to commencement of employment;
- obtain or hold a current Working with Children Check; and
- meet the Department of Education Teacher Qualifications and Registration
TRAINING
Employees will be required to:
- complete the Department’s induction program within three months of commencement;
- complete the Department’s Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander cultural awareness online course within 3 months of commencement; and
- complete any training specific to this role required by Departmental policy.
The Department applies a four (4) day breach period to this selection process.
