Hedland Senior High School (SHS) is seeking a Humanities and Social Sciences (HASS) Teacher to join our high quality regional school
Teachers and School Administrators employed at Hedland Senior High School in 2023 are eligible to receive an Attraction and Retention Incentive of $10,000 (pa, gross – to be adjusted pro rata for FTE and tenure). Eligible staff will receive a percentage of this payment on commencement at the school, with the remainder paid at the end of the school year. Staff must remain employed in the location until the end of the school year to be eligible to receive the second payment.
The ARI payment is in addition to other incentives that may apply in this school.

About the role
In HASS, students gain a greater understanding of the world around them, through subjects such as History, Geography, Civics and Citizenship and Economics and Business. Each topic program is designed based on the relevant curriculum documents and on the interests of the students. This will enable the successful applicant to teach engaging and relevant programs which students enjoy and do well in.

In the first instance, only applicants with teaching qualifications will be considered. Where there are no suitable applicants with teaching qualifications, applicants without teaching qualifications may be considered.
We will consider an internal secondment opportunity for permanent teachers in other locations within the Department of Education who would like to work at our school for up to three years and retain their substantive position.
