Appointment Pool
Westminster Education Support Centre (ESC) is seeking to establish a pool of Education Support Teachers for appointments to permanent and fixed term, full-time and part-time vacancies which may arise during the 2024 school year. Appointments can be made from the pool at any time for commencements within the 2024 school year.

Westminster ESC is a dynamic and vibrant school providing a safe, friendly student- focussed learning environment for our students. We offer various programs designed to develop our students' needs academically, socially and emotionally.
We share a campus with Westminster Primary School. This provides our students with an opportunity for integration and inclusion, through participation in whole school activities and the chance to take part in mainstream classes.
We are ideally seeking high-quality teachers who are enthusiastic and dedicated to teaching students with Autism Spectrum Disorder, Intellectual disabilities, physical disabilities, sensory impairment, and challenging behaviours. Ideally, applicants should possess an in-depth understanding of evidence-based practice and specialist education support pedagogy. We are seeking applicants in primary aged classes, and innovative Duties Other Than Teaching (DOTT) provision such as The Arts.
It would be highly desirable for the suitable applicants to possess a skill set that includes knowledge of Alternative Augmentative Communication, differentiated teaching and learning, individual visual supports systems, Positive Behaviour Support, including functional behaviour assessment, self-regulation strategies, and Digital Technologies.

ELIGIBILITY
Employees will be required to:
- provide evidence of eligibility to work in Australia for the term of the vacancy;
- obtain a current Department of Education Criminal Record Clearance prior to commencement of employment;
- obtain or hold a current Working with Children Check; and
- meet the Department of Education Teacher Qualifications and Registration requirements.
TRAINING
Employees will be required to:
- complete the Department’s induction program within three months of commencement;
- complete the Department’s Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander cultural awareness online course within 3 months of commencement; and
- complete any training specific to this role required by Departmental policy.
The Department applies a four (4) day breach period to this selection process.
