The Role and our Branch
Business and Customer Services is seeking an experienced and dedicated individual to fill the role of the Administration and Finance Officer.

The Administration and Finance Officer provides executive, administrative, financial and project support to the Director, Business and Customer Services and the Manager, Business Support Services.
The role is responsible for managing confidential and sensitive enquiries requiring appropriate referral and timely responses. The occupant is required to liaise with senior staff within the Department on a diverse range of issues related to the directorate and prepare correspondence, ministerial responses and briefing notes on behalf of the Director.
The role also conducts research and provides support for Department committees and meetings and Directorate project initiatives.

Your written application will be assessed against the following selection criteria:
1. Demonstrated sound knowledge and experience in the delivery of high-level administration support services, including the ability to provide executive support to senior managers.
2. Demonstrated sound oral and interpersonal communication skills, including the ability to liaise effectively with senior managers and internal and external clients on a wide range of issues.
5. Demonstrated sound financial management skills with the ability to interpret, report and apply financial practices and procurement procedures.

Eligibility and Training Requirements
Employees will be required to:

- obtain a current Department of Education Criminal Record Clearance before commencing employment
- complete
- the Department’s induction program within three months of commencement;
- training specific to this role required by Department policy; and
- the Department’s training in Accountability and Ethical Decision-Making within six months of appointment
- the Department’s Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander cultural awareness online course within 3 months of commencement
The Department applies a four (4) day breach period to this selection process.
