About the School
Bruce Rock District High School is located 240 km from Perth and caters for students from Kindergarten to Year 10. Our moral purpose at Bruce Rock DHS is that we are relentless in our pursuit of excellence, enabling our students to have the best opportunities in life.
Our students want teachers who are compassionate, caring and kind. We are seeking teachers who ideally expect every child to work hard, behave, and set goals for their learning, whilst making sure there are rewards in place to celebrate and recognise their hard work. At Bruce Rock DHS we have developed our own behaviour matrix around a positive behaviour model, which we expect all of our students to follow. We have also developed our own explicit teaching model, which forms part of our school Business Plan. We also use a number of programs, including; Spelling Mastery, on top of regular classroom spelling programs, Heggerty, Sounds Write, Talk for Writing, which support in-class reading programs and PRIME Maths. Our staff are also engaged in professional learning such as Teach Well and CMS (Classroom Management Strategies).
