Gwynne Park Education Support Centre (ESC) is seeking to establish a pool of Education Support Teachers for appointments to permanent and fixed term, full-time and part-time vacancies which may arise during the 2023 school year and up to the end of Term 2, 2024. Appointments can be made from the pool at any time for commencements within the 2023 school year, up to the end of Term 2, 2024.
Suitable applicants should be motivated, compassionate, flexible and highly organised. Familiarity with, or willingness to learn strategies and use of early intervention strategies, Explicit Instruction, PBS (Positive Behaviour School), task analysis and the use of Augmentative and Alternative Communication (AAC) to work effectively with our diverse range of students, is highly desirable.
Suitable applicants will ideally have well developed classroom management skills to help create the safe and caring environments required for optimal learning to take place, along with the use of collaborative planning to support targeted and sustainable behaviour interventions.
Knowledge in the use of assessment to identify ability, interests, progress and areas for development, will be well regarded, as well as the ability to develop plans and programs aligned with identified individualised student outcomes. You should possess excellent communication skills and leadership within the classroom and wider community.

Vacancies may arise during the life of this pool that require specialist qualifications (for example vacancies within Early Childhood Education). Only applicants, in the pool, possessing the required qualifications will be considered for appointment in these circumstances.

- Professional engagement.

ELIGIBILITY
Employees will be required to:
- provide evidence of eligibility to work in Australia for the term of the vacancy;
- obtain a current Department of Education Criminal Record Clearance prior to commencement of employment;
- obtain or hold a current Working with Children Check;
- meet the Department of Education Teacher Qualifications and Registration requirements; and
- complete the Department’s Aboriginal Cultural Appreciation course.
TRAINING
Employees will be required to:
- complete the Department’s induction program within three months of commencement; and
- complete any training specific to this role required by Departmental policy.
The Department applies a four (4) day breach period to this selection process.
