Leinster Community School (LCS) is seeking motivated and enthusiastic Primary Teachers to join their high-quality regional school.
There is a possibility of three 3x full-time fixed term positions.

About the role
LCS is currently looking for highly motivated teachers who believe all children can learn and achieve success. We are working towards becoming a highly effective school where all students are valued and supported to succeed. We are committed to implementing Teaching for Impact and evidence-based programs that enhance the educational outcomes for all students.
The successful applicant will deliver quality learning programs and believe that evidenced-based teaching practices lead to successful students and high standards of achievement. Understanding of and the ability to apply high impact teaching strategies together with an understanding of restorative practice is considered advantageous. Drawing on a range of evidence-based instructional strategies that impact on student wellbeing, engagement, progress, and achievement. Teachers need to be prepared to work together to create the Leinster Community School's whole school processes. We aim to build strong positive relationships with students, families, and staff.
There will be opportunities for leadership as we move towards embedding PBSWA processes and engage in partnership with Real Schools to develop a restorative approach to behavioural needs across the school. Deep knowledge of curriculum and best teaching practice together with strong leadership skills would be advantageous.

At Leinster Community School we are continually engaged in a process of evaluating what we do and how we do it so that our curriculum is contemporary, relevant and future focused. Leinster is a friendly and welcoming small town where there is strong community involvement with the school both inside and outside of school hours. The community partnerships with the school to provide a social and sporting atmosphere that provides staff and students engagement within the town.
The location and community
Leinster Community School a Level 4 school located in the Goldfields Education Region, approximately 370 kilometres north of Kalgoorlie. It is a community school catering for students in Kindergarten to Year 12.
Leinster is a 'closed' mining town unique to the Western Australian mining community. It has a population of approximately 400 permanent residents. Teachers have access to flights in and out of the community to Perth. You will be entitled to four flights a quarter. The town is well resourced with an IGA, café, gift shop and golf course with free facilities that include a swimming pool, gym, squash courts, tennis courts and basketball courts. A wellness centre with a pilates and yoga studio will open at the end of 2023.

This selection process will initially be used to fill the above vacancy. Applicants assessed as suitable during this selection process may be considered for other similar vacancies that occur throughout our school for up to 12 months following this initial appointment. This includes circumstances where this position becomes subsequently vacant should the successful applicant decline or vacate the advertised position.

ELIGIBILITY
Employees will be required to:
- provide evidence of eligibility to work in Australia for the term of the vacancy;
- obtain a current Department of Education Criminal Record Clearance prior to commencement of employment;
- obtain or hold a current Working with Children Check; and
- meet the Department of Education Teacher Qualifications and Registration
TRAINING
Employees will be required to:
- complete the Department’s induction program within three months of commencement;
- complete the Department’s Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander cultural awareness online course within 3 months of commencement; and
- complete any training specific to this role required by Departmental policy.
The Department applies a four (4) day breach period to this selection process.
