Darling Range Sports College (SC), an Independent Public School, is seeking an innovative and enthusiastic Home Economics Teacher who can inspire students to engage in curriculum, strive for excellence and is proactive in improving student outcomes.
The successful applicant should possess excellent interpersonal skills an ability to provide students with the highest quality curriculum delivery and programs within the Technologies Learning Area.
They will ideally have previous experience as a Teacher in the Senior School, as well as being flexible and adaptive to apply the strategies of differentiated instruction and explicit teaching. An ability and experience in teaching across all year levels from Years 7 – 12 is desirable.
We would encourage all qualified teachers to apply for this exciting position including recent graduates and those who graduate in June 2023. Furthermore, Certificate IV TAE qualification, as well as other appropriate qualifications in Hospitality, will be highly regarded but not essential.
Darling Range SC is located approximately 15 kms east of the Perth city centre in the foothills of Perth. The College is experiencing rapid growth and is seen as a school of choice by the local community and by students from across the state who enrol in our specialist sports programs.

A major focus of the College is also the implementation of Explicit Instruction across all learning areas. Experience using Explicit Instruction in the classroom is not a prerequisite for this position, but the successful applicant must display a willingness to incorporate this into their teaching practice. Knowledge or completion of CMS (Classroom Management Strategies) and IS (Instructional Strategies) professional workshops would also be highly desirable.
This selection process will initially be used to fill the above vacancy. Applicants assessed as suitable during this selection process may be considered for other similar vacancies that occur throughout our school for up to 12 months following this initial appointment. This includes circumstances where this position becomes subsequently vacant should the successful applicant decline or vacate the advertised position.
