North Dandalup Primary School (PS) is seeking to appoint a classroom teacher to join their friendly team.
This is a unique opportunity to work in a small semi-rural environment with small student numbers and a nationally recognised environment program focused on sustainability. We are looking for a classroom teacher with a holistic approach and a passion for educating students to reach their full potential.
The priorities and goals of this position are to cater for a range of abilities by delivering engaging lessons that are differentiated to all ability levels. The successful applicant will ‘nurture excellence naturally’ for all students, including students at educational risk by implementing effective documented plans.
The successful applicant will have strong skills in instructional pedagogy based on current research and will possess the ability to work collaboratively as part of an inclusive team.
Situated at the base of the Darling Range, approximately 80kms from Perth, North Dandalup PS is a small school in a natural setting, with a population of 143 students spanning Kindergarten to Year 6. The school itself is steeped in history having been established in 1900.
This selection process will initially be used to fill the above vacancy. Applicants assessed as suitable during this selection process may be considered for other similar vacancies that occur throughout our school for up to 12 months following this initial appointment. This includes circumstances where this position becomes subsequently vacant should the successful applicant decline or vacate the advertised position.
To be suitable for this role, you will need to demonstrate your competency against the following domains (that govern the Australian Professional Standards for Teachers):
- Professional knowledge;
- Professional practice; and
- Professional engagement.

ELIGIBILITY
Employees will be required to:
- provide evidence of eligibility to work in Australia for the term of the vacancy;
- obtain a current Department of Education Criminal Record Clearance prior to commencement of employment;
- obtain or hold a current Working with Children Check;
- meet the Department of Education Teacher Qualifications and Registration requirements; and
- complete the Department’s Aboriginal Cultural Appreciation course.
TRAINING
Employees will be required to:
- complete the Department’s induction program within three months of commencement; and
- complete any training specific to this role required by Departmental policy.
The Department applies a four (4) day breach period to this selection process.
