Goollelal Primary School (PS) is seeking a highly motivated and enthusiastic early childhood teacher to join their dedicated and professional team. This is a six-month role teaching a composite Pre-Primary / Year 1 class.

In line with the Goollelal Primary School Strategic Plan 2021 - 2024, we are seeking a teacher with a deep knowledge of evidence-based practices and expertise applying high-impact teaching strategies. The successful applicant should use an explicit instruction model to ensure that students get maximum benefit from Goollelal’s whole-school programs: PLD Literacy, Talk for Writing and Oxford Maths.

Established in 1981, Goollelal PS is situated 20 kilometres north of Perth in the suburb of Kingsley and caters for students from Kindergarten through to Year 6. This selection process will initially be used to fill the above vacancy. Applicants assessed as suitable during this selection process may be considered for other similar vacancies that occur throughout our school for up to 12 months following this initial appointment. This includes circumstances where this position becomes subsequently vacant should the successful applicant decline or vacate the advertised position.
To be suitable for this role, you will need to demonstrate your competency against the following domains (that govern the Australian Professional Standards for Teachers):
- Professional knowledge;
- Professional practice; and
- Professional engagement.

ELIGIBILITY
Employees will be required to:
- provide evidence of eligibility to work in Australia for the term of the vacancy;
- obtain a current Department of Education Criminal Record Clearance prior to commencement of employment;
- obtain or hold a current Working with Children Check; and
- meet the Department of Education Teacher Qualifications and Registration
TRAINING
Employees will be required to:
- complete the Department’s induction program within three months of commencement;
- complete the Department’s Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander cultural awareness online course within 3 months of commencement; and
- complete any training specific to this role required by Departmental policy.
The Department applies a four (4) day breach period to this selection process.
