North Harrisdale Primary School is seeking to establish a pool of Deputy Principals for appointments to permanent and fixed term, full-time and part-time vacancies which may arise during the 2023 school year and up to the end of Term 2, 2024. Appointments can be made from the pool at any time for commencements within the 2023 school year, up to the end of Term 2, 2024.

We seek Deputy Principals who will proactively embrace our culture to add value to our team. You will work closely as an integral member of our Executive Leadership Team to achieve the school’s vision, values, culture and strategic direction. You should have outstanding organisational and time management skills to ensure structures and procedures are in place to support staff, students, and families. You should focus on continual improvement and evidence-based practice in leading a connected approach to teaching and learning. Ideally, suitable applicants can display experience in responding strategically to contemporary research and collaboratively leading initiatives to maximise our impact on student learning.
Suitable applicants will ideally have relevant knowledge, skills, and experience and/or capacity in one or more of the following areas:
- Strategic leadership in exemplary teaching to model strategies reflecting our consistent approaches and programs across the school
- Develop and lead high impact teaching, learning and assessment strategies that support collective teacher efficacy
- Coach and mentor of staff in effective practices
- Lead rigorous data analysis to drive planning for improved student outcomes
- Foster a culture of positive behaviour practice across the school
- Human resource management, including recruitment processes and staff induction.
- Establish collaborative, effective partnerships with the wider school community.

To be suitable for this role, you will need to demonstrate the following work-related requirements:
- Capacity to provide effective leadership in a diverse range of educational settings;
- High level of interpersonal and public relations skills that demonstrate the ability to establish and maintain effective working relationships to achieve planned outcomes;
- Professional knowledge and the ability to apply this knowledge to ensure a high level of educational outcomes for all students (e.g. Aboriginal students, students from diverse ethnic backgrounds and students with special needs).
- Capacity to manage staff, physical and financial resources.

Eligibility and training requirements
Employees will be required to:
- provide evidence of eligibility to work in Australia for the term of the vacancy;
- hold a recognised qualification in teaching and be currently registered or eligible for registration to teach in Western Australia;
- obtain a current Department of Education Criminal Record Clearance prior to commencement of employment;
- obtain or hold a current Working with Children Check;
- complete the Department’s induction program within three months of commencement;
- complete the Department’s Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander cultural awareness online course within 3 months of commencement;
- complete any training specific to this role required by Departmental policy; and
- complete the Department’s training in Accountability and Ethical Decision-Making within six months of appointment.
The Department applies a four (4) day breach period to this selection process.
