Teachers and School Administrators employed at Kalgoorlie-Boulder Community High School in 2023 are eligible to receive an Attraction and Retention Incentive of $10,000 (pa, gross – to be adjusted pro rata for FTE and tenure). Eligible staff will receive a percentage of this payment on commencement at the school, with the remainder paid at the end of the school year. Staff must remain employed in the location until the end of the school year to be eligible to receive the second payment.
The ARI payment is in addition to other incentives that may apply in this school.
The Ideal Teacher
The successful applicant will ideally have an in depth understanding of the Western Australian Languages Curriculum and contemporary pedagogical practices to support second language learning. Applicants should have knowledge in teaching the Chinese Language, classroom teaching and high-level Chinese speaking, reading, and writing skills.
The successful applicant will ideally be highly motivated and committed to creating an effective, engaging, inclusive, and innovative learning environment for all students to achieve their potential.
The successful applicant should possess strong communication, interpersonal and leadership skills which will be used to develop and promote the school’s values, ethos, and priorities across the school community. You should build positive relationships with your students and be passionate about creating positive futures for students. You should be performance driven and use evidence based decision-making skills.
In the first instance, only applicants with teaching qualifications will be considered. Where there are no suitable applicants with teaching qualifications, applicants without teaching qualifications may be considered.
We will also consider an internal secondment opportunity for permanent teachers in other locations within the Department of Education who would like to work at our school for up to three years and retain their substantive position.
