The Ideal Teacher
Suitable applicants will ideally possess exemplary teaching skills, be highly motivated and hold themselves accountable to delivering best practice. You should have the ability to work in an environment characterised by whole school connected practice, collaborative team structures and a strong commitment to professional growth.
Ideally, suitable applicants will take advantage of high impact teaching strategies and have proven experience in the planning and delivery of engaging literacy and numeracy programs with a particular focus on explicit instruction. A deep understanding of how to differentiate to meet the needs of all students will be highly regarded, as is the ability to use a variety of assessment tools to inform progress, enable constructive feedback and drive future planning at a classroom level.
You will ideally be a flexible and innovative teacher who is committed to the development of the whole child. You should be actively involved within the school community, highly reflective of your teaching practices and committed to evidence-based decision making and differentiation. You should be able to work collaboratively to develop programs of work that meet individual student needs. Strong communication and interpersonal skills, as well as a willingness to collaborate with colleagues, parents, and external networks to establish strong community partnerships are highly desirable.
Our School

We are an Independent Public School catering for students in Kindergarten to Year 6. Our school community is diverse, with representation from over thirty-four different cultures. The Recruitment Process
This is an open pool recruitment process for permanent and fixed term, full time and part time opportunities that may arise during the 2023 school year. We do, however, have regular intakes where our selection panel convene to assess new applications.

We will also consider an internal secondment opportunity for permanent teachers in other locations within the Department of Education who would like to work at our school for up to three years and retain their substantive position. ELIGIBILITY
Employees will be required to:
- Provide evidence of eligibility to work in Australia for the term of the vacancy;
- Obtain a current Department of Education Criminal Record Clearance prior to commencement of employment;
- Obtain or hold a current Working with Children Check;
- Meet the Department of Education Teacher Qualifications and Registration requirements; and
- Complete the Department’s Aboriginal Cultural Appreciation course.
TRAINING
Employees will be required to:
- Complete the Department’s induction program within three months of commencement; and
- Complete any training specific to this role required by Departmental policy.
The Department applies a four (4) day breach period to this selection process.
