Halls Head College (HHC) is seeking a passionate, dedicated and highly motivated Mathematics teacher to join their team.

The successful applicant should possess professional knowledge, practice and experience to deliver an engaging and relevant secondary Mathematics curriculum using a positive, student-focused approach. Ideally you will have success working with students across a range of ability levels, support major school directions and be committed to whole school approaches and initiatives.

Strong communication and interpersonal skills, as well as a willingness to liaise with colleagues, parents and external networks to establish strong community partnerships are highly desired. You should have the capacity to teach a range of abilities across Years 7 to 12, use intervention strategies to support student improvement, as well as the ability to incorporate enterprise skills into the design of the teaching and learning experience.

The successful applicant should utilise evidence-based teaching practices whilst employing a range of assessment and reporting methods. With effective interpersonal skills, you will ideally work closely with students to ensure they are able to reach their full potential. The ability to differentiate curriculum and implement innovative approaches to improve outcomes for both high and low achieving students is a key element to this position.

HHC is an Independent Public School uniquely situated on the 'island' of Halls Head, just south of Mandurah. This selection process will initially be used to fill the above vacancy. Applicants assessed as suitable during this selection process may be considered for other similar vacancies that occur throughout our school for up to 12 months following this initial appointment. This includes circumstances where this position becomes subsequently vacant should the successful applicant decline or vacate the advertised position. 

To be suitable for this role, you will need to demonstrate your competency against the following domains (that govern the Australian Professional Standards for Teachers):

  • Professional knowledge;
  • Professional practice; and
  • Professional engagement.

  • complete the Department’s induction program within three months of commencement; and
  • complete any training specific to this role required by Departmental policy.

The Department applies a four (4) day breach period to this selection process.
