This is a twelve (12) month fixed term, full-time position commencing Term 1, 2023 with possible extension (12 months)
Mullewa District High School (DHS) is offering an opportunity for a passionate and motivated Teacher to join their school in the Health and Physical Education learning area.

Teachers and school administrators employed at Mullewa District High School in 2023 are eligible to receive an Attraction and Retention Incentive of $17,000 (pa, gross – to be adjusted pro rata for FTE and tenure). Eligible staff will receive a percentage of this payment on commencement at the school, with the remainder paid at the end of the school year. Staff must remain employed in the location until the end of the school year to be eligible to receive the second payment.
The ARI payment is in addition to other incentives that may apply in this school.
About the Role

The successful applicant should be highly effective in engaging and motivating students through creating an exciting and challenging learning environment. You should possess excellent interpersonal skills and work closely with students, staff, and the community to achieve positive educational outcomes for all students you work with. The successful applicant will work as part of a dedicated team to develop, review, and deliver relevant curriculum across all levels. You should have an understanding of, and be willing to respond to, the cultural needs of our students and a proven capacity to develop positive relationships with all students.
The successful applicant will ideally have a sound understanding of the impact of trauma on learning. There is a strong focus on data analysis and skills in evidence-based planning to improve outcomes for all students. A commitment to maintain school wide consistent practices is an expectation of all teaching staff at the school.
The successful applicant should ideally have experience in organising sporting events and carnivals. An ability to work with neighbouring schools, relevant agencies and the local community is beneficial.
