Caversham Valley Primary School is seeking a Science Teacher committed to the continued delivery of our high-quality science program to students in Years 1 – 6.
About the role
Caversham Valley Primary school has had a high-quality, well-resourced Science program since 2021 and is delivered from a modern science-room. In addition to new science resources, there is access to ICT equipment and Digital Technologies.
The successful applicant will ideally have the curriculum and teaching knowledge to deliver a high-quality science program to students from Years 1 – 6. Engaging all students through differentiation and clear learning intensions will be highly regarded.
As the successful applicant, you will continue the links with outside Science and STEM organisations that provide additional learning opportunities for our students.
Collaboration with other specialist staff, teachers, school executive team, other schools and our parent body is an important part of this role. Our science program is highly supported by our families and students.
Caversham Valley PS was established in 2020 and has rapidly grown to a student body in excess of 650. As the only Public School in the suburb of Caversham, this growth will continue for the foreseeable future.
Caversham Valley Primary School provides learning to families from diverse backgrounds such as: countries of birth, cultural beliefs, languages, and religion. Throughout our school community over 60 countries are represented, with more than 70 different languages or dialects spoken. Our families are very supportive of the school and staff and have high expectations for the learning of their children. Many households are multi-generational with extended family being involved with the school.
Caversham Valley PS is located approximately 15km from the Perth CBD and on the border of the Swan Valley.
This selection process will initially be used to fill the above vacancy. Applicants assessed as suitable during this selection process may be considered for other similar vacancies that occur throughout our school for up to 12 months following this initial appointment. This includes circumstances where this position becomes subsequently vacant should the successful applicant decline or vacate the advertised position.
To be suitable for this role, you will need to demonstrate your competency against the following domains (that govern the Australian Professional Standards for Teachers):
- Professional knowledge;
- Professional practice; and
- Professional engagement.

- complete the Department’s induction program within three months of commencement; and
- complete any training specific to this role required by Departmental policy.
