Are you a passionate teacher of Music who is looking to instil an appreciation of music and performance in primary school students?

 

Caversham Valley Primary School (PS) is seeking a Music Teacher committed to further developing our music program and building upon the program’s inception in 2022.

About the role

The successful applicant should have the curriculum and teaching knowledge to deliver a high-quality music program to students from Years 1 – 6. Engaging all students through differentiation and clear learning intensions will be highly regarded.

In 2022 a school choir and ukulele group were established; further development of these, along with identifying opportunities for them to perform publicly, will be a feature of the role.

Collaboration with other specialist staff, teachers, school executive team, other schools and our parent body is an important part of this role. Our music program is highly supported by our families, in-particular the school P&C.

Our School

Caversham Valley PS was established in 2020 and has rapidly grown to a student body in excess of 650. As the only Public School in the suburb of Caversham, this growth will continue for the foreseeable future.

Caversham Valley PS provides learning to families from diverse backgrounds such as: countries of birth, cultural beliefs, languages, and religion. Throughout our school community over 60 countries are represented, with more than 70 different languages or dialects spoken. Our families are very supportive of the school and staff and have high expectations for the learning of their children. Many households are multi-generational with extended family being involved with the school.

Caversham Valley PS is located approximately 15km from the Perth CBD and on the border of the Swan Valley.

This selection process will initially be used to fill the above vacancy. Applicants assessed as suitable during this selection process may be considered for other similar vacancies that occur throughout our school for up to 12 months following this initial appointment. This includes circumstances where this position becomes subsequently vacant should the successful applicant decline or vacate the advertised position. 

To be suitable for this role, you will need to demonstrate your competency against the following domains (that govern the Australian Professional Standards for Teachers):

  • Professional knowledge;
  • Professional practice; and
  • Professional engagement.

ELIGIBILITY

TRAINING

Employees will be required to:

  • complete the Department’s induction program within three months of commencement; and
  • complete any training specific to this role required by Departmental policy.

The Department applies a four (4) day breach period to this selection process.
