John Forrest Secondary College (SC) is seeking a dedicated and highly motivated individual to fill the position of a Humanities and Social Sciences (HASS) Teacher.
This is your opportunity to display innovative, contemporary teaching practices that develop the College as a centre of teaching and learning excellence, and to proactively contribute to an evolving HASS program whilst also inspiring students to achieve more.
The successful applicant will ideally have a strong working understanding of HASS within the Western Australian Curriculum. A Certificate IV in Training and Assessment would be advantageous as the ability to deliver Certificate II and III in Business to a high standard is highly desirable.
The successful applicant will ideally have experience in teaching upper school general courses and possess strong skills and experience in teaching Australian Tertiary Admission Rank (ATAR).
In addition to the above, the successful applicant will ideally be committed to supporting the College’s vision by actively engaging all of their students in purposeful learning and supporting their personal and social development. This includes a commitment to deliberate self-reflection based on observational data and feedback through the use of peer-observation. Well-developed interpersonal skills focussed on contributing to whole school development as an active member of the HASS team will be highly regarded.

This selection process will initially be used to fill the above vacancy. Applicants assessed as suitable during this selection process may be considered for other similar vacancies that occur throughout our school for up to 12 months following this initial appointment. This includes circumstances where this position becomes subsequently vacant should the successful applicant decline or vacate the advertised position.
