Ellenbrook Secondary College (SC) is seeking a dedicated Technologies - Computing Teacher to join their team.

Ellenbrook SC is an Independent Public School catering for students from Year 7 to Year 12 on a modern campus. The College seeks to engage students and staff in an innovative and enriching educational environment. Ellenbrook SC is committed to operational and educational excellence and the students and staff are proud of their achievements and the contributions they make to the college and wider community. The successful applicant will ideally have high expectations, exhibit a commitment to excellence, use a range of pedagogies and have the ability to establish and maintain a positive classroom learning environment.

The successful applicant will ideally be an experienced, collaborative teacher in Digital Technologies/Computing, (however, early-career teachers are encouraged to apply) as well as being flexible and adaptive to apply the strategies of differentiated instruction. Ellenbrook SC has implemented a whole school Instructional Framework – “Instructional Intelligences” that all teachers use. The ability and experience in teaching across a wide variety of courses from Year 7 – 12 including cyber security, coding, graphic design, information technology and ATAR Computer Science with experience in teaching STEM and/or Business would also be beneficial. The successful applicant should possess the professional knowledge, understanding and experience to deliver an engaging and relevant secondary Digital Technologies curriculum. A Certificate IV in Training and Assessment and the ability to deliver Certificate courses is also desirable but not essential.  

The successful applicant will ideally possess strong communication, interpersonal and leadership skills which will be used to develop and promote the school’s values, ethos and priorities across the school community. They will build positive relationships with their students and communicate with parents as required.

This selection process will initially be used to fill the above vacancy. Applicants assessed as suitable during this selection process may be considered for other similar vacancies that occur throughout our school for up to 12 months following this initial appointment. This includes circumstances where this position becomes subsequently vacant should the successful applicant decline or vacate the advertised position. 

To be suitable for this role, you will need to demonstrate your competency against the following domains (that govern the Australian Professional Standards for Teachers):

  • Professional knowledge;
  • Professional practice; and
  • Professional engagement.
