Are you a passionate and dedicated Home Economics Teacher looking to make a positive difference?
Manjimup Senior High School (SHS) is seeking an enthusiastic and motivated Home Economics Teacher to join their outstanding regional school.
As a Home Economics - Teacher, you will use your interpersonal skills and ability to provide students with the highest quality curriculum delivery within the Home Economics Area. The successful applicant will ideally be skilled in instructional and curriculum design, possess a strong knowledge of Western Australian curriculum and will be highly informed of the latest developments within this domain. Having a Certificate IV in training and assessment will be highly regarded.
The successful applicant will ideally be reflective in assessing the effectiveness of their teaching practice and cultivate a safe and encouraging learning environment. You will set yourself and your students high expectations, have a commitment to excellence and use a range of pedagogies to enhance outcomes for students. You should be adaptive and self-motivated and prepared to enthusiastically embrace new opportunities.
At Manjimup SHS our approach to learning recognises the uniqueness of individuals and the importance of building relationships. As in Independent Public School catering for students from Year 7 to 12 we provide a supportive and caring environment equipping students with a strong sense of self-worth, leadership, civic and environmental responsibility. We are blessed with amazing facilities that include the Commercial Kitchen and Trades Training Centre.
This selection process will initially be used to fill the above vacancy. Applicants assessed as suitable during this selection process may be considered for other similar vacancies that occur throughout our school for up to 12 months following this initial appointment. This includes circumstances where this position becomes subsequently vacant should the successful applicant decline or vacate the advertised position.
To be suitable for this role, you will need to demonstrate your competency against the following domains (that govern the Australian Professional Standards for Teachers):
- Professional knowledge;
- Professional practice; and
- Professional engagement.

- Complete the Department’s induction program within three months of commencement; and
- Complete any training specific to this role required by Departmental policy.
