West Byford Primary School (PS) are seeking to establish a pool of Early Childhood Teachers for appointments to permanent and fixed term, full-time and part-time vacancies which may arise during the 2023 school year. Appointments can be made from the pool at any time for commencements within the 2023 school year.
Evidence based practice drives our school improvement plan, and a culture of excellence is embedded at West Byford PS. As a staff member of West Byford PS, you will play a key role in contributing to a strong supportive and collaborative school culture where every student feels safe, valued, confident and are supported to learn.
The school is focused on embedding evidence-based practices for teaching and learning and suitable applicants should be able to display their high-quality teaching skills and how they impact student achievement. You should implement effective, innovative, and engaging learning programs and work collaboratively with staff to apply whole school approaches for curriculum delivery. Suitable applicants will ideally have a strong knowledge of explicit teaching philosophy and its application in an early childhood context. Experience in effectively using programs such as Letters and Sounds and Heggerty will be an advantage.
Suitable applicants should be eager and willing to improve their performance through engaging in professional learning, effective feedback, performance management, classroom and peer observations. They will ideally possess excellent interpersonal skills and build strong professional relationships with families and their colleagues; contributing to learning teams and supporting the collaborative culture found within the school. Suitable applicants will ideally be highly reflective, motivated, innovative, enthusiastic and driven to make a positive difference.
To be suitable for this role, you will need to demonstrate your competency against the following domains (that govern the Australian Professional Standards for Teachers):

- Professional engagement.

Employees will be required to:

- obtain a current Department of Education Criminal Record Clearance prior to commencement of employment;
- obtain or hold a current Working with Children Check;
- meet the Department of Education Teacher Qualifications and Registration requirements; and
- complete the Department’s Aboriginal Cultural Appreciation course.
Employees will be required to:
- complete the Department’s induction program within three months of commencement; and
- complete any training specific to this role required by Departmental policy.
The Department applies a four (4) day breach period to this selection process.
