The Role and our Branch
The Finance and Commercial Services division is seeking to recruit a highly motivated and committed Consultant Advisory Management - Systems to the Commercial Services branch.
Commercial Services has responsibility for the provision of support to the Department and Schools, for contract planning and management, insurance management, fleet management and commercial legal advice.

The Consultant Advisory Management - Systems will administer the Department’s procurement processes, practices, systems and reporting services. This includes undertaking maintenance and system enhancements relating to the department’s Procurement and Contract Management System and troubleshooting system issues to ensure that the system and the users’ activities consistently comply with relevant legislation, policies and procedures. You will also contribute to the development and implementation of policies, guidelines and appropriate templates, practices and procedures for the Directorate and its stakeholders to support procurement activities.

2. Demonstrated well-developed analytical, conceptual and problem-solving skills, including the ability to provide innovative solutions to complex problems and issues.
3. Demonstrated well-developed skills and practical experience and knowledge of computerised purchasing systems and associated applications.
5. Demonstrated well-developed written communication skills, including experience in preparing reports, briefing papers, and responses to Senior Management.

Eligibility and Training Requirements
Employees will be required to:
- provide evidence of eligibility to work in Australia for the term of the vacancy
- obtain a current Department of Education Criminal Record Clearance before commencing employment
- complete the Department’s Aboriginal Cultural Appreciation course
- complete
- the Department’s induction program within three months of commencement;
- training specific to this role required by Department policy; and
- the Department’s training in Accountability and Ethical Decision-Making within six months of appointment

This selection process will initially be used to fill the above vacancy.
