Eastern Hills Senior High School (SHS) are seeking two dedicated and enthusiastic Design and Technology Teachers to join their team.
We currently have the following positions available:
- 2x - permanent full-time positions
One position will commence in Term 3, 2022.
One position will commence in Term 4, 2022.
The role focuses on instilling in students an appreciation of the design process and developing their skills and pride in the use of tools and machines in bringing those designs to fruition using a variety of materials. The successful applicants will ideally have developed knowledge in this area of the curriculum with strong teaching and classroom management skills, and be able to develop good relationships with students and engage them in highly effective learning. They will ideally engage in professional learning and working professionally with colleagues, and have strong communication and interpersonal skills, working as a member of a vibrant and enthusiastic school team.
The successful applicants will ideally be passionate and committed to the education of young people. It is desirable that applciants possess strong interpersonal skills and be able to collaborate with team members, as well as work autonomously. Experience teaching Engineering is highly desirable.

This selection process will initially be used to fill the above vacancy. Applicants assessed as suitable during this selection process may be considered for other similar vacancies that occur throughout our school for up to 12 months following this initial appointment. This includes circumstances where this position becomes subsequently vacant should the successful applicant decline or vacate the advertised position.
To be suitable for this role, you will need to demonstrate your competency against the following domains (that govern the Australian Professional Standards for Teachers):
- Professional knowledge;
- Professional practice; and
- Professional engagement.

- complete the Department’s induction program within three months of commencement; and
- complete any training specific to this role required by Departmental policy.
