Laverton School is seeking a Health and Physical Education (HPE) Teacher to join their high-quality regional school.
About the role
The successful applicant will ideally possess the capacity to provide a learning environment that is caring, engaging and differentiated to cater for a range of learning needs. You will ideally have the ability to deliver the Western Australian Curriculum and have an excellent understanding of the Aboriginal Cultural Standards Framework. We seek teachers who have positive classroom management and skills to engage students successfully. The ability to build positive relationships with students and their families will greatly enhance your effectiveness in this role.
The successful applicant will ideally be able to engage students in the HPE Learning Area and will have strong curriculum knowledge to ensure our students will reach their full potential. You will be required to teach Physical Education and Health to students from K to 12. This role may also involve teaching and providing support in another subject area, depending on the successful applicant’s areas of expertise and interest.

Laverton School is located in the centre of Laverton Town (population of approximately 350 people), nestled in the far Northern Goldfields of Western Australia. Wongi people, collectively known as Wongutha or Wankatja people, have occupied the Laverton area for thousands of years.
The school has strong connections with organisations such as the Stephen Michael Foundation, Shooting Stars, Shire of Laverton Youth Development Program, WAPOL and the local mining industry.
Laverton school is a very attractive remote school with many services within the town, including youth club, sports facilities, gym, hospital, caravan park, police station, well supplied shop and fuel station (including 24 hour fuel supplies), volunteer organisations (eg. St John Ambulance), sports club, café and takeaway. Skippers Aviation service Laverton with three flights per week to and from Perth, and with Kalgoorlie-Boulder just a drive away and with Laverton being part of the Golden Quest Discovery Trail, there are ample opportunities for trips on weekends and/or holidays.
