Appointment Pool

We are seeking to establish a pool for appointments to permanent and fixed term, full-time and part-time vacancies which may arise during the 2023 school year. Appointments can be made from the pool at any time for commencements within the 2023 school year.

Freshwater Bay Primary School (PS) are seeking experienced, innovative, and dedicated Teachers to join our team.

Suitable applicants should display a strong knowledge of the WA Curriculum, Early Years Learning Framework, and National Quality Standards. They should ideally be able to plan and teach in a collaborative environment with highly developed competencies in differentiating the curriculum.

Suitable applicants should ideally be conscientious and have a diligent approach to the role. They would preferably be a collaborative, active and enthusiastic staff member who displays high interpersonal and problem solving skills. You would have a passion for explicit teaching and learning, highly developed organisational skills, flexibility, and a commitment to implementing whole school programs. A knowledge of the Pre-Lit and Initial-Lit programs are desirable

Freshwater Bay PS is situated centrally in the suburb of Claremont at the mid-point of road and rail links between Perth and Fremantle. It caters for students from Kindy through to Year 6. The stability of student and staff numbers contributes to the successful implementation of long-term strategies. Freshwater Bay PS offers an extensive specialist program in STEM, Music, Art Physical Education and French. The children also have access to our Instrumental Music Program from Years 3 to 6.

Freshwater Bay PS is a family and community oriented school with a tradition of providing a quality education to families in the Claremont area.

Vacancies may arise during the life of this pool that require specialist qualifications (for example vacancies within Early Childhood Education, Physical Education, Music, Science). Only applicants, in the pool, possessing the required qualifications will be considered for appointment in these circumstances.

To be suitable for this role, you will need to demonstrate your competency against the following domains (that govern the Australian Professional Standards for Teachers):

  • Professional knowledge;
  • Professional practice; and
  • Professional engagement.

  • complete the Department’s induction program within three months of commencement; and
  • complete any training specific to this role required by Departmental policy.
