About the Role
The successful applicant will ideally be a passionate, motivated and skilled educator who is committed to improving literacy and numeracy outcomes for every child, every day, through our whole school approaches, explicit teaching and instructional strategies.

Our School
Borden PS is a small, attractive school nestled in a picturesque farming environment.
Our school has been providing education to the local families since 1925. The school has always enjoyed a strong community spirit developed over that time and the close, supportive relationship that exists between students, staff and parents enables us to know each student as an individual. Staff and students work together cooperatively to create a positive school environment in which every student feels safe and is able to learn in a caring atmosphere.
The Location and Community
Borden is located just over an hour's drive north-east of Albany, a beautiful port town, and about 400 kilometres south-east from Perth, an easy four-hour drive. The Stirling Ranges, a world-renowned biodiversity hot spot, are on the doorstep and the beautiful beaches of Bremer Bay are only an hour away. The town has a tavern, post office, large grain handling facility, farm supplier and short stay accommodation. Other facilities include the Borden Pavilion, an outstanding venue catering for a range of sporting and cultural activities. Medical services and facilities are available in nearby Gnowangerup.

This selection process will initially be used to fill the above vacancy. Applicants assessed as suitable during this selection process may be considered for other similar vacancies that occur throughout our school for up to 12 months following this initial appointment. This includes circumstances where this position becomes subsequently vacant should the successful applicant decline or vacate the advertised position.

- Professional practice; and
- Professional engagement.

ELIGIBILITY
Employees will be required to:
- Provide evidence of eligibility to work in Australia for the term of the vacancy;
- Complete the Department’s Aboriginal Cultural Appreciation course;
- Obtain a current Department of Education Criminal Record Clearance prior to commencement of employment;
- Obtain or hold a current Working with Children Check; and
- Meet the Department of Education Teacher Qualifications and Registration requirements.
TRAINING
Employees will be required to:
- Complete the Department’s induction program within three months of commencement; and
- Complete any training specific to this role required by Departmental policy.
