Cecil Andrews College has an exciting opportunity for a Teacher – Humanities and Social Sciences (HASS) to join the friendly team. Pre-Service / Graduate Teachers are welcome to apply.

The successful applicant should ideally be student focussed, motivated and have the ability to work collaboratively in a team environment. You should possess the professional knowledge, understandings and experience to deliver an engaging and relevant HASS curriculum through engaging programs that are relevant to student needs.

Cecil Andrews College, an Independent Public School, is situated in Seville Grove. The College provides programs to support a range of students with pathways to university, State Training Providers (TAFE) and the workplace. Pastoral care and a focus on positive, respectful relationships are priorities at the College.

Cecil Andrews College is acknowledged as a leading school in Science, Technology, Engineering, Arts and Mathematics (STEAM) education and innovation with a strong focus on Project Based Learning across the curriculum. The college has a purpose-built STEAM building with state of the art facilities and is a Teacher Development School (TDS) for Technology. The TDS program is a Department of Education initiative that shares teacher expertise across schools and provides teachers across Western Australia with quality professional learning support. All staff at Cecil Andrews College form an active part of the TDS team and participate in the development and delivering of professional learning.

Cecil Andrews College provides a specialised differentiated curriculum for those identified as academically talented, providing them with opportunities for extension and enrichment in Quantitative Sciences and Humanities. The College provides specialist gifted and talented programs in the areas of Australian Rules Football and Performing Arts.

This selection process will initially be used to fill the above vacancy. Applicants assessed as suitable during this selection process may be considered for other similar vacancies that occur throughout our school for up to 12 months following this initial appointment. This includes circumstances where this position becomes subsequently vacant should the successful applicant decline or vacate the advertised position. 

To be suitable for this role, you will need to demonstrate your competency against the following domains (that govern the Australian Professional Standards for Teachers):

  • Professional knowledge;
  • Professional practice; and
  • Professional engagement.

ELIGIBILITY

Employees will be required to:

  • complete the Department’s induction program within three months of commencement; and
  • complete any training specific to this role required by Departmental policy.
