Appointment Pool

We are seeking to establish a pool of senior consultants for appointments to fixed term, full-time and part-time vacancies which may arise during 2022 and until the end of June 2023.

The Role and our Branch

Intranet Services is a part of the Department’s wider Communications and Media area. We are a creative team who work at a fast pace, often within challenging timelines. Your ability to contribute to team processes, take initiative, embrace challenges and focus on successful outcomes will see you succeed in these roles.

We are looking for a well-rounded person, who can hit the ground running. You might come with a background in communications (online, corporate, or other), journalism, public relations, or a mix of some or all of these. No day is ever the same, with interesting and challenging work hitting your desk every day. You need to be self-motivated, driven, highly organised and have solid experience in contributing to a high-functioning team. You will also need to be able to think on your feet and work under pressure to meet competing priorities.

Experience in writing for an online environment is ideal. Experience with a content management system is a bonus, but it is not essential.

The main responsibilities of these roles include:

  • delivering clear and strategic internal communications
  • developing accessible digital content for our intranet
  • engaging with stakeholders to define business processes and identifying improvement strategies
  • delivering content principles training.

Eligibility and Training Requirements

Employees will be required to:

  • provide evidence of eligibility to work in Australia for the term of the vacancy
  • obtain a current Department of Education Criminal Record Clearance before commencing employment
  • complete the Department’s Aboriginal Cultural Appreciation course
  • complete
    • the Department’s induction program within three months of commencement;
    • training specific to this role required by Department policy; and
    • the Department’s training in Accountability and Ethical Decision-Making within six months of appointment
