Hampton Senior High School (SHS) is seeking to establish a pool of Health and Physical Education Teachers for appointments to permanent and fixed term, full-time and part-time vacancies which may arise during the 2022 school year and up to the end of Term 1, 2023. Appointments can be made from the pool at any time for commencements within the 2022 school year, up to the end of Term 1, 2023.

Hampton SHS strives to create a vibrant culture of aspiration, innovation, and achievement for students, staff, and the community. The focus of our work will be on quality teaching and provision of the widest range of opportunities for individual achievement and learning success.

Applicants should ideally be committed to working effectively within a professional learning community within the Health and Physical Education Learning Area and as part of the wider school community. Applicants with a light rigid bus license with F Extension will be highly regarded as the role includes many excursions.

Suitable applicants will utilise their motivational and interpersonal skills to build positive relationships with students and create an engaging learning environment for students in the Health and Physical Education Learning Area.

Ideally, suitable applicants will be able to display the ability to provide purposeful and relevant learning experiences that cater for different student learning needs as outlined in the West Australian Curriculum.  Additionally, it is expected that a wide range of assessment and reporting methods are utilised to indicate student achievement in relation to the relevant achievement standards. A strong knowledge of the curriculum area and ongoing and proven success in teaching ATAR Physical Education Studies and Health Studies, as well as qualifications in Certificate IV in Training and Assessment, Certificate II/III Sport and Recreation as well as Certificate II Sport Coaching are all highly desirable.

Applicants with the knowledge and ability to teach in another learning area is highly desirable.
