The Role and our Branch

The Standards and Integrity Directorate is seeking an experienced workplace trainer and leader to join the team to coordinate the delivery of integrity education and working with children check governance for a large workforce across Western Australia.

The Principal Consultant will drive the analysis, planning, delivery and evaluation of integrity education using innovative formats, including eLearning for diverse Departmental audiences. Integrity education topics are derived from the Public Sector Commission Integrity Strategy and analysis of integrity cases dealt with by the Department, including emerging integrity issues. The role will also involve monitoring National and International integrity issues to ensure the Department is positioned to learn from others to prevent, detect and respond to fraud and corruption. You will consult with internal stakeholders on matters of integrity, fraud and corruption prevention and Department complaint management processes, including the provision of guidance to stakeholders on complaint management including breaches of discipline, misconduct and risk mitigation strategies.

The Standards and Integrity Directorate is responsible for the assessment and investigation of suspected breaches of discipline and misconduct; directing the allocation and timely investigation or resolution of complaints relating to employee conduct; coordination of disciplinary processes; discipline investigations, managing public interest disclosures, and provision of proactive professional learning strategies related to integrity education.

Eligibility and Training Requirements

Employees will be required to:

  • provide evidence of eligibility to work in Australia for the term of the vacancy
  • obtain a current Department of Education Criminal Record Clearance before commencing employment
  • obtain or hold a current Working with Children Check
  • hold a current C class drivers licence
  • travel intrastate as required
  • complete a declaration prior to employment and annually thereafter disclosing any previous disciplinary findings, criminal charges or convictions, and ongoing conflicts of interest
  • complete the Department’s Aboriginal Cultural Appreciation course
  • provide a statement from previous employer/s with regard to any disciplinary findings
  • complete
    • the Department’s induction program within three months of commencement;
    • training specific to this role required by Department policy; and
    • the Department’s training in Accountability and Ethical Decision-Making within six months of appointment

COVID-19 REQUIREMENTS
