Durham Road School is seeking to establish a pool of Manager Corporate Services for appointments to permanent and fixed term, full-time and part-time vacancies which may arise during the 2022 school year and up to the end of Term 2, 2023. Appointments can be made from the pool at any time for commencements within the 2022 school year, up to the end of Term 2, 2023.
Durham Road School is seeking organised and enthusiastic Managers of Corporate Services to join our leadership team.
As the Manager Corporate Services, you will ideally possess excellent interpersonal and communication skills which will assist when working with the leadership team, staff, parents, and the wider community. These skills will see you negotiate effectively and build and maintain strong relationships with stakeholders at all levels as we build and then operate this school.
Suitable applicants will need strong Information Communication Technology (ICT) skills, and have experience in asset management and a Comprehensive knowledge of Human Resource Management. Thorough experience in the application of School Information System (SIS), ICT Dashboard and Asset and Human Resource Management Information Systems (HRMIS). RAMS Recruitment process knowledge preferred, together with marketing and branding are highly desirable.
Utilising your outstanding financial management skills and strategic leadership, you will be responsible for the development and deployment of physical and financial resources in delivering services for the school community ensuring compliance with relevant legislation and Departmental policies and guidelines.
Durham Road School is the largest Education Support School in Western Australia, catering for approximately 240 students with disability from Kindy through to Year 13. Each teacher's focus is on delivering high quality teaching and learning experiences using the latest innovation alongside current best practice techniques. Our geographical intake area is large, with families residing in an area roughly between the four corners of Bullsbrook, Ellenbrook, Chidlow and Maylands.
Our class sizes are small, with specialist teachers and education assistants across all phases of the school. We provide a targeted, differentiated curriculum based on the Western Australian Curriculum and Abilities Based Learning Education, Western Australia (ABLEWA), combined with a rich social environment designed to meet the individual learning needs of each child. Learning goals are collaboratively established for each student based on individual needs and parent priorities at Individual Education Plan (IEP) meetings.
To be suitable for this role, you will need to demonstrate the following work related requirements (selection criteria):
- Significant skills leading, managing, and facilitating a team to deliver strategic business outcomes using sound customer service principles and practices.
- Exceptional knowledge and experience in financial management and budget preparation and an understanding of the financial regulatory framework, including the Australian Accounting Standards, the Financial Management Act, tax legislatures and other relevant legislation.
- Comprehensive and highly developed human resource management skills, including the ability to develop and apply human resource management practices and systems.
- Substantial experience in the development, implementation, management and monitoring of strategic business, marketing and operational plans.
- Highly developed written, verbal and interpersonal skills, including the ability to consult, collaborate and negotiate effectively with a wide range of individuals at all levels.
- Thorough research, conceptual and risk management skills, including the ability to provide innovative solutions to strategic and complex problems and issues.

Eligibility and training requirements
Employees will be required to:
- obtain a current department of Education Criminal Record Clearance prior to commencement of employment
- obtain or hold a current Working with Children Check
- complete the department’s induction program within three months of commencement
- complete any training specific to this role required by departmental policy
- complete the department’s training in Accountable and Ethical Decision-Making within six months of appointment.
- complete the Department’s Aboriginal Cultural Appreciation course
- provide evidence of eligibility to work in Australia for the term of the vacancy
