Fremantle College is seeking a dedicated and enthusiastic Education Support Teacher to join their team. This is your opportunity, as a foundation teacher at Fremantle College, to demonstrate innovative, contemporary teaching practices that develop the college as a centre of teaching and learning excellence for Education Support students, and contribute to excellent outcomes in the Autism Extension Program.

Using your effective interpersonal skills, you will work closely with the community to achieve the best educational outcomes for students.
As the Education Support teacher within the Autism Extension program, you will provide classroom-focussed support enabling the delivery of high quality literacy, numeracy and social skills programs. You will assist in the implementation of individual and small group programs as well as primary school and parent liaison for transition into the college. Your development of the learning environment and school resources for those in the program, and for additional students who have Schools Plus funding, will be essential.
Your role will be within mainstream classes as well as the Autism Extension Program and will include providing professional support to your colleagues. The successful applicant will ideally have experience using Special Educational Needs (SEN) planning and using Applied Behavioural Analysis to achieve the best possible outcomes for students including Western Australian Certificate of Education (WACE) achievement. Knowledge and experience of case management processes, effective intervention strategies and the development and implementation of Individual Behaviour and Risk Management Plans is highly desirable.

This selection process will initially be used to fill the above vacancy. Applicants assessed as suitable during this selection process may be considered for other similar vacancies that occur throughout our school for up to 12 months following this initial appointment. This includes circumstances where this position becomes subsequently vacant should the successful applicant decline or vacate the advertised position.

- Professional engagement.
