About the role
The successful applicant should ideally possess warm and caring characteristics, with a passion and dedication for teaching, in addition to having a great rapport with our middle and upper primary students.
The successful applicant will ideally need to be an enthusiastic, driven team player, who participates in whole school planning and curriculum development, contributing to our culture of sharing and collegiate support.
The successful applicant will have strong Literacy and Numeracy curriculum knowledge and skills with a strong knowledge of WA Curriculum Outline and a commitment to improving student achievement through the effective use of whole-school approaches, explicit teaching of literacy and numeracy skills, early intervention and the integrated use of ICT.
A sound understanding of the cultural context of Djugerari Community on Ngurrara Country and the importance of a positive relationship between the school and community is also highly desirable.

The location and community
Djugerari RCS is located 110km south east of Fitzroy Crossing. Nestled in amongst the stunning red hills of the St George Ranges, our school is an integral part of the community.
There are only 16 houses in Djugerari Community and everyone is required to travel to Fitzroy Crossing to access a range of facilities and services. We have a friendly collaborative community and the children are characterised by their friendly welcome for visitors to the school.

This selection process will initially be used to fill the above vacancy. Applicants assessed as suitable during this selection process may be considered for other similar vacancies that occur throughout our school for up to 12 months following this initial appointment. This includes circumstances where this position becomes subsequently vacant should the successful applicant decline or vacate the advertised position.

ELIGIBILITY
Employees will be required to:
- provide evidence of eligibility to work in Australia for the term of the vacancy
- obtain a current Department of Education Criminal Record Clearance prior to commencement of employment; and
- obtain or hold a current Working with Children Check.
- meet the Department of Education Teacher Qualifications and Registration
TRAINING
Employees will be required to:
- complete the Department’s induction program within three months of commencement; and
- complete any training specific to this role required by Departmental policy.
