This is a permanent part-time (0.6FTE) position commencing Term 1, 2022
West Beechboro Primary School (PS) is seeking to appoint an effective, committed and enthusiastic teacher to teach Auslan from Years 1 to 6 (with assessment and reporting from Years 3 to 6); commencing in Term 1, 2022. It is essential that the applicant has the appropriate primary teaching qualifications, be experienced in teaching students across a range of year levels, and have a high level of knowledge and skill in teaching Auslan as a Languages subject, in order to provide our school community opportunities to develop intercultural capabilities, understanding and respect for others, appreciation of diversity and openness to different perspectives and experiences.

We are seeking a highly competent teacher, with well-established classroom management skills, who can work in a cooperative environment, add to the culture of the school as a learning community and contribute to student and staff development in Auslan. This selection process will initially be used to fill the above vacancy. Applicants assessed as suitable during this selection process may be considered for other similar vacancies that occur throughout our school for up to 12 months following this initial appointment. This includes circumstances where this position becomes subsequently vacant should the successful applicant decline or vacate the advertised position.

- Professional knowledge;
- Professional practice; and
- Professional engagement.

ELIGIBILITY
Employees will be required to:
- provide evidence of eligibility to work in Australia for the term of the vacancy;
- obtain a current Department of Education Criminal Record Clearance prior to commencement of employment;
- obtain or hold a current Working with Children Check; and
- meet the Department of Education Teacher Qualifications and Registration
TRAINING
Employees will be required to:
- complete the Department’s induction program within three months of commencement; and
- complete any training specific to this role required by Departmental policy.
