Mount Magnet District High School (DHS) are seeking to establish a pool of Health and Physical Education Teachers for appointments to permanent and fixed term, full-time and part-time vacancies which may arise during the 2022 school year. Appointments can be made from the pool at any time for commencements within the 2022 school year.

About the Role
The suitable applicants will ideally be highly effective in engaging and motivating students and managing an appropriate learning environment. You will ideally possess superior interpersonal skills and work closely with students, teachers and the community to achieve the best educational outcomes for our students. The Health and Physical Education role will require excellent organisational skills in the planning and running of sports carnivals and sporting events and capacity to deliver the health curriculum, including Protective Behaviours across all classes.
Strengths in digital technologies applicable to primary students would also be desirable. The school is very well resourced and is consolidating its explicit approach to lesson design and delivery.
The suitable applicants should have a sound understanding of the developmental needs of students at all phases of the Western Australian Curriculum and will be skilled in differentiating the curriculum to meet the academic needs of all students. You should have a commitment to inclusive education and a strategic approach in planning for improved student outcomes.
Our School
Mount Magnet DHS has around 88 students from Kindergarten to Year 10 from diverse cultural backgrounds and is guided by our expectations: We are Respectful, We are Responsible, We are Achievers.
Literacy and numeracy are an integral part of every single day at school and we strive to provide every student with opportunities to learn the skills they will need for life after school. Zones of Regulation are taught in Primary School, to complement the Positive Behaviour Strategies that the school values and promotes. The Location and Community
The school and town is located in Badimia Country, with a number of students and staff members closely connected to and continuing language and culture. The school has a Wajarri Language program and, along with visual arts, this is important in both the school and community. The school is part of the Murchison Network of schools comprising of Meekatharra District High School, Yulga Jinna Remote Community School, Cue Primary School, Yalgoo Primary School and Pia Wadjarri Remote Community School

ELIGIBILITY
Employees will be required to:
- Provide evidence of eligibility to work in Australia for the term of the vacancy;
- Obtain a current Department of Education Criminal Record Clearance prior to commencement of employment;
- Obtain or hold a current Working with Children Check; and
- Meet the Department of Education Teacher Qualifications and Registration.
TRAINING
Employees will be required to:
- Complete the Department’s induction program within three months of commencement; and
- Complete any training specific to this role required by Departmental policy.
