Wongan Hills District High School (DHS) is seeking a Health and Physical Education Teacher to join their high quality regional school.
About the Role
Wongan Hills District High School (DHS) is seeking to employ a dedicated and dynamic Health and Physical Education Teacher for a permanent teaching position commencing Term 1, 2022.
The successful applicant will ideally be highly effective in engaging and motivating students and managing an appropriate learning environment. You will ideally possess superior interpersonal skills and work closely with students, teachers and the community to achieve the best educational outcomes for our students. The role will require excellent organisational skills in the planning and running of sports carnivals and sporting events. The position will involve delivering curriculum mainly to students from Years 4 to 10.
The successful applicant will ideally have a sound understanding of the developmental needs of students at all phases of the Western Australian Curriculum and will be skilled in differentiating the curriculum to meet the academic needs of all students. You should have a commitment to inclusive education and a strategic approach in planning for improved student outcomes.

This selection process will initially be used to fill the above vacancy. Applicants assessed as suitable during this selection process may be considered for other similar vacancies that occur throughout our school for up to 12 months following this initial appointment. This includes circumstances where this position becomes subsequently vacant should the successful applicant decline or vacate the advertised position.

ELIGIBILITY
Employees will be required to:
- Provide evidence of eligibility to work in Australia for the term of the vacancy;
- Obtain a current Department of Education Criminal Record Clearance prior to commencement of employment;
- Obtain or hold a current Working with Children Check; and
- Meet the Department of Education Teacher Qualifications and Registration.
TRAINING
Employees will be required to:
- Complete the Department’s induction program within three months of commencement; and
- Complete any training specific to this role required by Departmental policy.
