Greenwood College (GC) is seeking a dedicated and enthusiastic Humanities & Social Sciences (HASS) Teacher to join their team.
The successful applicant should be a dynamic and dedicated HASS specialist with a commitment to excellence in teaching and learning. Extensive knowledge of the Western Australian (WA) HASS Curriculum from Year 7–10 as well as Year 12 General and ATAR courses is highly desirable for within this role. As a HASS teacher, you would participate as an integral member of the HASS Learning Area and be responsible for supporting the collaborative approach to curriculum planning, providing learning programs to students suited to the needs of the school community and model exemplary teaching and learning strategies in your delivery of the WA Curriculum. As a reflective practitioner, you should possess effective data literacy and a capacity to modify your practice to meet identified student needs. In addition, applicants who currently hold a Certificate IV in Training & Assessment and the ability to teach Certificate II in Business will be considered favourably for this position.
Strong communication and interpersonal skills, as well as a willingness to liaise with colleagues, parents and external networks to establish strong community partnerships, are also desired. As the successful applicant, you should be relationship focused with a consistent and transparent classroom management approach. You should be enthusiastic, seek opportunities for innovation and leadership, and desirably have the proven ability to work collaboratively in a team environment.

This selection process will initially be used to fill the above vacancy. Applicants assessed as suitable during this selection process may be considered for other similar vacancies that occur throughout our school for up to 12 months following this initial appointment. This includes circumstances where this position becomes subsequently vacant should the successful applicant decline or vacate the advertised position.

ELIGIBILITY
Employees will be required to:
- Provide evidence of eligibility to work in Australia for the term of the vacancy;
- Obtain a current Department of Education Criminal Record Clearance prior to commencement of employment;
- Obtain or hold a current Working with Children Check; and
- Meet the Department of Education Teacher Qualifications and Registration
TRAINING
Employees will be required to:
- Complete the Department’s induction program within three months of commencement; and
- Complete any training specific to this role required by Departmental policy.
