John Forrest Secondary College (SC) is looking for a creative and committed English Teacher to fill a fulltime, permanent position from the start of 2022.
As a teacher at John Forrest SC you should ideally have a focus on high performance and high care for all students. The successful applicant will ideally have a thorough knowledge of the English curriculum in Years 7 - 12 and be able to engage students in their learning. The ability to teach ATAR courses and deliver the Seven Steps writing program, while not essential, would be beneficial. The successful applicant would promote active learning and provide activities that enable students at all levels to achieve their potential. A focus on forming positive working relationships with students and engaging with parents to assist student learning is highly desirable.
Strong interpersonal skills and the ability to work in a large collaborative and supportive team environment will be considered favourably in this role. The successful applicant will be joining a progressive and enthusiastic team of teachers who are engaged in implementing a whole-school approach to education. The capacity to engage in curriculum development and to meet the needs of students using evidence-based practice and a sound knowledge of how data analysis can inform teaching practices is highly desirable.

This selection process will initially be used to fill the above vacancy. Applicants assessed as suitable during this selection process may be considered for other similar vacancies that occur throughout our school for up to 12 months following this initial appointment. This includes circumstances where this position becomes subsequently vacant should the successful applicant decline or vacate the advertised position.

- Professional engagement.
