Appointment Pool

East Narrogin Primary School (PS) are seeking to establish a pool for appointments to permanent and fixed term, full-time and part-time vacancies which may arise during the 2022 school year. Appointments can be made from the pool at any time for commencements within the 2022 school year.

Suitable candidates will have outstanding interpersonal and communication skills which underpin professional and positive working relationships with staff, students, parents and the wider community. This includes being culturally responsive, collaborative and solutions focused.

Suitable candidates will also possess strong knowledge of the WA Curriculum, Early Years Learning Framework and National Quality Standards.  They will have pedagogical practices that provide for the development of the whole child with a balance of play and explicit teaching. High expectations will be possessed through data analysis skills, target setting and differentiation for each student to achieve year on year growth. Experience with the PLD (Diana Rigg) synthetic phonics program, Talk 4 Writing and Positive Behaviour Support will be well regarded.

Graduates and experienced teachers are encouraged to apply with opportunities to develop through Professional Learning Teams, distributed leadership structures and a professional learning program.

East Narrogin is located in the progressive regional centre of Narrogin in the Wheatbelt region of Western Australia about 200km south-east of Perth.  The school is located on the traditional lands of the Whadjuk Noongar people.  The name Narrogin is derived from the Noongar word Gnarojin which means place of water.

Vacancies may arise during the life of this pool that require specialist qualifications (for example vacancies within Early Childhood Education). Only applicants, in the pool, possessing the required qualifications will be considered for appointment in these circumstances.

To be suitable for this role, you will need to demonstrate your competency against the following domains (that govern the Australian Professional Standards for Teachers):

  • Professional knowledge;
  • Professional practice; and
  • Professional engagement.
