Our teachers receive a Country Teaching Program (CTP) allowance of up to $5000pa in addition to their usual salary.  Fixed Term employees are eligible for permanency when they have worked continuously at a CTP school for two (2) years.

Newton Moore Senior High School (SHS) is seeking a dedicated and enthusiastic Technologies (Home Economics) Teacher with a focus on Food Science.

The successful applicant will ideally have excellent organisational skills as they plan and prioritise within their area of responsibility and will ideally be able to establish and maintain strong relationships with staff, students, parents and the broader community. The successful applicant should be able to engage in teams effectively and show the attributes of professionalism. You will ideally be student and relationship focused, enthusiastic, innovative and motivated, with the ability to work collaboratively and flexibly in a team environment.

Ideally, the successful applicant will have experience in the delivery of Western Australian Certificate of Education (WACE) courses across a range of technology contexts and will be willing to deliver Certificate Courses and Career Education. The ability to teach across the curriculum is highly desirable.

As a teacher at Newton Moore SHS you will participate as an integral member of the teaching teams and be responsible for supporting the collaborative approach to curriculum planning, delivering learning programs to students according to the needs of the school community and modelling exemplary classroom practice. You will assist in the development and implementation of innovative classroom practices and you will be relationship focused to assist with the pastoral care of students.

We offer Education Approved Specialist Academic Programs: Science Horizons and Engineering Specialist. Newton Moore SHS is also a Teacher Development School (TDS) for secondary science and a Lead Language School and supports with training and assisting staff across the South West. The school is a Registered Training Organisation (RTO) for Certificate II courses in Aquaculture and Workplace Skills.

Newton Moore SHS also provides enrichment through the following programs: Moore Academy of Sport and Health (MASH), Follow the Dream, Clontarf Football Academy, Stars Foundation and CALM Bush Ranger Cadets Program ‘Cadets WA’.

This selection process will initially be used to fill the above vacancy.
