Eaton Community College is seeking a dedicated School Psychologist to join our proactive and highly skilled student services team.
Our School Psychologist provides services such as evidence-based assessments, interventions in mental health and well-being, behaviour, risk profiles, critical incident management, learning and disability advice and support. The successful applicant will be responsible for delivering direct psychological services to identify the needs of clients to apply psychological skills and knowledge to continue to improve the mental health, learning and behavioural outcomes for students. As an essential part of the team, the expectation is that they will effectively collaborate with staff, parents, caregivers and other agencies. It is important for the successful applicant to be recognised as a team member of student services, and someone who is at the school to support our students. We have a small but highly successful, Education Department endorsed, Specialised Learning Program for students with Autism Spectrum Disorder. The program is embedded within the learning environment and we demonstrate inclusive practices. Our educators access our highly skilled specialist personnel, who work with our mainstream educators to provide the quality educational experiences, working on the strengths of individual students and their needs.

This selection process will initially be used to fill the above vacancy. Applicants assessed as suitable during this selection process may be considered for other similar vacancies that occur throughout our school for up to 12 months following this initial appointment. This includes circumstances where this position becomes subsequently vacant should the successful applicant decline or vacate the advertised position.
To be suitable for this role, you will need to demonstrate the following work related requirements (selection criteria):
- Ability to implement school psychology services and programs in an educational environment to maximise student learning outcomes.
- Knowledge of the implementation and evaluation of a variety of psychological approaches appropriate for individual, group and system-level intervention.
- High level written and oral communication skills, demonstrating the capacity to produce correspondence, reports and case notes, and interview and training (facilitation) skills.
- Highly developed interpersonal skills, which demonstrate an ability to function in a self-directed way, and as a member of an interdisciplinary team, working with a range of clients across the lifespan, Department personnel and inter-agency partners across a variety of contexts.
- Ability to apply analytical and conceptual skills to issues identification, risk assessment and analysis, intervention and evaluation.

ELIGIBILITY AND TRAINING REQUIREMENTS
Employees will be required to:
- provide evidence of eligibility to work in Australia for the term of the vacancy
- hold or be eligible for general registration with the Psychology Board of Australia; or
- hold or be eligible for provisional registration with the Psychology Board of Australia with:
- an Australian Psychology Accreditation Council accredited 5th year qualification in psychology; or
- an Australian Psychology Accreditation Council accredited 4th year qualification and a recognised qualification in teaching (or Graduate Diploma in School Psychology)
- obtain a current Department of Education Criminal Record Clearance prior to commencement of employment
- obtain or hold a current Working with Children Check
- complete the Department’s induction program within three months of commencement
- complete any training specific to this role required by Departmental policy
- complete the Department’s training in Accountable and Ethical Decision-Making within six months of appointment.
