Albany Senior High School (SHS) seeks to appoint a dedicated, highly competent and enthusiastic Program Coordinator - Student Services with outstanding interpersonal skills to provide effective leadership of positive behaviour, differentiation, health and wellbeing, pastoral care and student engagement across the school.

The Program Coordinator will work collaboratively with the Student Services team to lead the development, review and implementation of the Students at Educational Risk Plan, Positive Behaviour Plan and Health and Wellbeing initiatives at Albany SHS. They will be instrumental in building a behaviour support program that is educative and consistently applied across the school by all staff.
The successful applicant will ideally have proven and effective leadership qualities including the capacity to strategically lead evidence-based improvements, and to build and maintain effective working relationship with students, staff, parents and a range of agencies and service providers. Knowledge of disabilities and evidence based approaches will be highly desirable in order to lead and manage the student health and wellbeing team to provide tiered interventions, pastoral care, targeted support and development programs for students. These strategies are integral to enhancing student engagement to ensure high social, emotional and educational outcomes for all students. You will be instrumental in the development of social emotional learning to ensure every student feels a strong sense of connection and belonging within our school.
The successful applicant will ideally possess a high level understanding of the case management of students that includes knowledge of effective intervention, monitoring and reporting strategies. They will provide direction and purpose to staff, build team capacity and cohesion and promote an environment of positive quality learning experiences for all students across Albany SHS.

This selection process will initially be used to fill the above vacancy. Applicants assessed as suitable during this selection process may be considered for other similar vacancies that occur throughout our school for up to 12 months following this initial appointment. This includes circumstances where this position becomes subsequently vacant should the successful applicant decline or vacate the advertised position.
To be suitable for this role, you will need to demonstrate the following work related requirements:
- Capacity to provide effective leadership in a diverse range of educational settings.
- High level of interpersonal and public relations skills that demonstrate the ability to establish and maintain effective working relationships to achieve planned outcomes.
- Professional knowledge and the ability to apply this knowledge to ensure a high level of educational outcomes for all students (e.g. Aboriginal students, students from diverse ethnic backgrounds and students with special needs).
- Capacity to manage physical and financial resources.

Eligibility and training requirements
Employees will be required to:
- Provide evidence of eligibility to work in Australia for the term of the vacancy;
- Hold a recognised qualification in teaching and be currently registered or eligible for registration to teach in Western Australia;
- Obtain a current Department of Education Criminal Record Clearance prior to commencement of employment;
- Obtain or hold a current Working with Children Check;
- Complete the Department’s induction program within three months of commencement;
- Complete any training specific to this role required by Departmental policy; and
- Complete the Department’s training in Accountable and Ethical Decision-Making within six months of appointment.
