About the Role
This role will suit someone who is able to provide engaging, relevant, and meaningful learning experiences with a focus on literacy and numeracy outcomes in an agricultural context.
The Ideal Teacher
The successful applicant will ideally be someone who will build strong relationships with students to help identify academic, work and life goals. In this role, the successful applicant will liaise with staff to provide additional support for student outcomes. You will also participate in Work Place Learning and monitoring, State Emergency Services Cadets and collaborate in a team environment with teachers and farm staff.
Esperance SHS Farm Training Centre is an 800 hectare fully operational farm located 35km from the town of Esperance. It is desirable that the successful applicant has a bus license. Our Farm Training Centre has a number of successful enterprises, including broad acre wheat, barley, oats and lupin production, and sheep and cattle raising. Agricultural students compete at many local and rural agricultural shows and are consistently high achievers at the annual Perth Agricultural Royal Show and the Esperance and other regional shows held annually.
The Esperance SHS Farm Training Centre is part of the Western Australian College of Agriculture. Students can undertake agricultural traineeships whilst still at school, giving them vital industry experience. Students gain dual accreditation at the end of their schooling that includes TAFE certification and the Western Australian Certificate of Education.
