This is a twelve (12) month fixed term, part-time (0.25FTE) position commencing Term 1, 2022

Cadoux Primary School (PS) are seeking a motivated and hardworking Cleaner to join our friendly team in the role of Cleaner – Working Alone.

In this role, the successful applicant will maintain a clean, safe environment for all students and staff. You will carry out internal cleaning duties, including the maintenance of carpets and hard floor surfaces, toilet cleaning, furniture and fittings, window cleaning, dusting and rubbish collection. In addition to this, you will carry out external cleaning duties including the sweeping of verandas and covered areas, rubbish removal, cleaning of drinking troughs, window cleaning, removal of cobwebs and other general cleaning duties.

The successful applicant will ideally have effective communication and interpersonal skills and excellent attention to detail. The ability to work independently and use your initiative in order to maintain a clean and safe environment is highly desirable. Computer skills are desirable but not essential.

Cadoux PS has a long history of educating the local community since 1933. As a small town located within the Shire of Wongan- Ballidu, we have a strong and supportive relationship with the community, working together to provide a first class education for the students at our school in a safe, nurturing and respectful surrounding.

Our staff work together with parents and the community to reach common goals for our students and provide them with opportunities outside of the town to enhance their learning and life experiences.

This selection process will initially be used to fill the above vacancy. ELIGIBILITY AND TRAINING REQUIRMENTS

Employees will be required to:

  • Obtain a current Department of Education Criminal Record Clearance prior to commencement of employment;
  • Obtain or hold a current Working with Children Check;
  • Complete the Department’s induction program within three months of commencement;
  • Complete the Department’s online training in manual tasks and hazardous substances within three months of commencement;
  • Complete Fundamentals of Cleaning training as soon as practicable;
  • Complete any other training specific to this role required by Departmental policy;
  • Complete the Department’s training in Accountable and Ethical Decision-Making within six months of appointment; and
  • Provide evidence of eligibility to work in Australia for the term of the vacancy.

COVID-19 REQUIREMENTS

Applicants are advised of the recently announced mandatory vaccination policy for various occupations and workforces in WA.  Employees working in, or attending school sites are required to be vaccinated in accordance with the policy.  More information can be found at Mandatory COVID-19 vaccination policy for WA workforces.

The Department applies a four (4) day breach period to this selection process.
