Appointment Pool
Sir David Brand School is the hub of a dynamic community
We are seeking to establish a pool for appointments to permanent and fixed term, full-time and part-time vacancies which may arise during the 2022 school year. Appointments can be made from the pool at any time for commencements within the 2022 school year.
Suitable applicants will have the sound pedagogical knowledge and instructional skills required to run high quality, targeted student programs. In addition, the suitable applicants must have sound organisational abilities and leadership skills. A positive team work ethic and excellent interpersonal skills are a large component of the role as is an ability to cater for the high support and diverse learning needs of students with disabilities. Effective and positive behaviour socialisation skills are highly desirable.
Suitable applicants will ideally be motivated, practical, hardworking, innovative and possess outstanding interpersonal skills. Suitable applicants will pursue excellence in classroom teaching, in particular when working with students with high support needs. Suitable applicants will ideally build strong partnerships with students, families and colleagues.

Located in Coolbinia, adjacent to the Yokine Reserve, Sir David Brand School provides high quality learning opportunities for students from 4 to 18 years of age. The school became an Independent Public School in 2015. Priorities include trauma informed practice, intensive early intervention, learning technologies, communication, protective education, the arts, physical education and secondary pathways. ELIGIBILITY
Employees will be required to:
- Provide evidence of eligibility to work in Australia for the term of the vacancy
- Obtain a current Department of Education Criminal Record Clearance prior to commencement of employment; and
- Obtain or hold a current Working with Children Check.
- Meet the Department of Education Teacher Qualifications and Registration
TRAINING
Employees will be required to:
- Complete the Department’s induction program within three months of commencement; and
- Complete any training specific to this role required by Departmental policy.
