Craigie Heights Primary School (PS) is seeking a dedicated and highly motivated individual to fill its Language Teacher position. The school is open to negotiate the language to be taught, including AUSLAN.
The successful applicant should be a capable and enthusiastic teacher who is able to engage students within the framework of our Positive Behaviour Support program. As a Language Teacher at Craigie Heights PS you would be responsible for planning, presenting and assessing a challenging and engaging language program. The successful applicant should utilise an evidence based approach and make the best use of contemporary learning tools.
Craigie Heights PS is an Independent Public School, located in the northern suburbs. There are 410 students enrolled from Kindergarten to Year 6. Our specialist programs include: Music, Visual Arts, Science, Physical Education and Languages. There is a strong focus on strong academic progress for each student and an emphasis on effective pastoral care for staff and students. Professional growth for teachers is based on classroom observation and guided self-reflection supported by targeted professional learning. There is a strong element of philanthropy woven into the fabric of the school culture.
This selection process will initially be used to fill the above vacancy. Applicants assessed as suitable during this selection process may be considered for other similar vacancies that occur throughout our school for up to 12 months following this initial appointment. This includes circumstances where this position becomes subsequently vacant should the successful applicant decline or vacate the advertised position.
To be suitable for this role, you will need to demonstrate your competency against the following domains (that govern the Australian Professional Standards for Teachers):
- Professional knowledge;
- Professional practice; and
- Professional engagement.

ELIGIBILITY
Employees will be required to:
- Provide evidence of eligibility to work in Australia for the term of the vacancy;
- Obtain a current Department of Education Criminal Record Clearance prior to commencement of employment;
- Obtain or hold a current Working with Children Check; and
- Meet the Department of Education Teacher Qualifications and Registration
TRAINING
Employees will be required to:
- Complete the Department’s induction program within three months of commencement; and
- Complete any training specific to this role required by Departmental policy.
