Can you provide purposeful and relevant learning experiences for young minds?
Ellen Stirling Primary School (PS) is seeking to establish a pool of Kindergarten to Year 6 Teachers for appointments to permanent and fixed term, full-time and part-time vacancies which may arise during the 2022 school year. Appointments can be made from the pool at any time for commencements within the 2022 school year.
Suitable applicants will ideally be highly experienced in the planning, delivery and assessment of Explicit Direct Instruction lessons. The ability to effectively cater to the diverse learning needs of students, including those with challenging behaviours and diagnosed special needs, via differentiated content delivery and the use of associated engagement norms is highly desirable. Ellen Stirling PS prides itself on the provision of effective second and third tier interventions to support students, including the use of Direct Instruction programs such as Reading Mastery.
As a Teacher (K-6) at Ellen Stirling PS, you will work collaboratively with a large team of professionals when planning for student learning and intervention. An ability to collect and analyse fine grain data sets at an individual, class and cohort level will be advantageous. An awareness of the school’s current key performance indicators and associated initiatives within the School Business Plan is highly desirable.
As Ellen Stirling PS fosters a growth mindset in both staff and students, all staff take part in ongoing professional learning and development. Suitable applicants will be familiar with, and open to, the contemporary growth coaching model that is currently being employed throughout the school to build staff capacity. Knowledge of effective self-reflection and a commitment to professional learning is desirable.
Ellen Stirling PS is a large Independent North Metropolitan Primary School, catering for approximately 760 students from Kindergarten to Year 6 and has over 70 staff. Vacancies may arise during the life of this pool that require specialist qualifications (for example vacancies within Early Childhood Education). Only applicants, in the pool, possessing the required qualifications will be considered for appointment in these circumstances.

- Professional knowledge;
- Professional practice; and
- Professional engagement.

ELIGIBILITY
Employees will be required to:
- Provide evidence of eligibility to work in Australia for the term of the vacancy;
- Obtain a current Department of Education Criminal Record Clearance prior to commencement of employment;
- Obtain or hold a current Working with Children Check; and
- Hold full, non-practising or provisional registration with the Teacher Registration Board (TRB), or be eligible for full, non-practising or provisional registration prior to commencement of the position. (Applicants who require a Limited Registration to teach from the TRB are not eligible). TRAINING
Employees will be required to:
- Complete the Department’s induction program within three months of commencement; and
- Complete any training specific to this role required by Departmental policy.
The Department applies a four (4) day breach period to this selection process.
