This is a twelve (12) month fixed term, full-time position commencing Term 1, 2022 with possible extension and/or permanency

Cervantes Primary School (PS) are seeking a teacher who is dedicated to improving individual student outcomes following our school’s beliefs that students learn best when: concepts are explicitly taught; assessment directs clear student goals; positive relationships are developed and all resources available are utilised. In this role you will ideally need to display excellent classroom practices focusing on evidence-based strategies and classroom management in a multi-age environment.

The successful applicant would be joining a dedicated team of teaching and non-teaching staff and they would need to be willing to contribute and work as part of a team. They need to display a commitment to working with whole school policies and working collaboratively to develop quality learning programs and strategies. In this role you will ideally be willing to participate in student moderation activities, classroom observations, professional learning and are open to sharing their knowledge and skills.

Our small school context requires the teacher to be a friendly person who can build positive relationships with students, staff and parents and be prepared to become a part of the wider community. The successful applicants need to be prepared to embrace the entire student population and contribute to their well-being.

Cervantes PS is a small school which values being responsible, showing respect and building relationships to reach the Pinnacle of learning and growing together. We are an Independent Public School located approximately 170 km North of Joondalup along the Indian Ocean Drive. The school is an important part of the community and is well supported by parents and community members.

This selection process will initially be used to fill the above vacancy. Applicants assessed as suitable during this selection process may be considered for other similar vacancies that occur throughout our school for up to 12 months following this initial appointment. This includes circumstances where this position becomes subsequently vacant should the successful applicant decline or vacate the advertised position. 

To be suitable for this role, you will need to demonstrate your competency against the following domains (that govern the Australian Professional Standards for Teachers):

  • Professional knowledge;
  • Professional practice; and
  • Professional engagement.

Employees will be required to:

TRAINING
