This is a permanent part-time (0.4FTE) position commencing Term 1, 2022 

East Maddington Primary School (PS) is seeking a dedicated and highly motivated individual to fill the position of Teacher – Primary – Mathematics, to provide outstanding care and be committed to exemplary teaching that nurtures students to reach their academic potential.

Please note this 0.4 FTE position is spread across four (4) mornings.

The successful applicant will ideally possess well-developed interpersonal skills and the capacity to work cooperatively with all others to create a welcoming and vibrant environment for students and families.  The successful applicant will ideally be a dynamic teacher who can cater for a range of learning needs and differentiate the curriculum to best address the learning needs of the students. Strong behaviour management skills and collaborative work practices are highly desirable. You should be able to work well with other staff and build positive relationships with the students, staff and school community.

As the successful applicant, you will ideally possess highly developed interpersonal skills and the capacity to work cooperatively with all others to create a welcoming and vibrant environment for students and families. Sound curriculum knowledge and capacity with teaching the Mathematics curriculum would be highly desirable.

East Maddington PS is situated in Maddington on a 3.91 ha site which includes a Language Development Centre, a Dental Therapy Unit, Child and Parent Centre and a canteen.  Our student population is multicultural, including Indigenous students and students from many different nationalities.

Our staff are committed professionals who continue to develop their skills and understandings to ensure that our approach to improving student outcomes is evidence-based and reflects current research and Department policy and guidelines. Through collaborative planning and participative decision making processes, all staff have input into school improvement processes.

This selection process will initially be used to fill the above vacancy. Applicants assessed as suitable during this selection process may be considered for other similar vacancies that occur throughout our school for up to 12 months following this initial appointment. This includes circumstances where this position becomes subsequently vacant should the successful applicant decline or vacate the advertised position. 

To be suitable for this role, you will need to demonstrate your competency against the following domains (that govern the Australian Professional Standards for Teachers):

  • Professional knowledge;
  • Professional practice; and
  • Professional engagement.
