Treeby Primary School (PS), will be opening its doors to students in 2022. We seeking a dedicated and motivated Music Teacher to join our collaborative school community.

The successful applicant will provide engaging contemporary music education and performance opportunities for students in Years PP to 6. A music qualification is desired but not essential. The successful applicant will form and facilitate an engaging school choir including performances in local festivals and events. They will also actively support the school’s culture by planning and leading student musical performances at school assemblies and concerts. They will liaise with the School of Instrumental Music to enable their programs to be delivered in the school.
This position will require candidates to have a strong evidence based teaching approach and ability to implement the Australian Curriculum, particularly in Music. The successful applicant should have a repertoire of instructional strategies to engage and motivate student learning; and strong communication and organisational skills.
Ideally, applicants will demonstrate their ability to create an engaging and inclusive learning environment based on high expectations. They will use assessment data to continuously evaluate the effectiveness of teaching programs, set targets and plan for differentiated learning opportunities for all the students in their class. Utilising student-driven inquiry and their ability to build connections across the curriculum, teachers will ensure that every moment is utilised to drive student engagement and improvement.
Suitable applicants will possess a deep commitment to developing positive and productive relationships with students, parents and staff. They will embed a proactive and inclusive approach that includes individualised planning and the consistent application of low key classroom management strategies, aligned to Positive Behaviour Support (PBS). Effective and regular communication, underpinned by respect and trust, will be expectations at Treeby PS.

This selection process will initially be used to fill the above vacancy. Applicants assessed as suitable during this selection process may be considered for other similar vacancies that occur throughout our school for up to 12 months following this initial appointment. This includes circumstances where this position becomes subsequently vacant should the successful applicant decline or vacate the advertised position.

- Professional engagement.

ELIGIBILITY
Employees will be required to:
- provide evidence of eligibility to work in Australia for the term of the vacancy
- obtain a current Department of Education Criminal Record Clearance prior to commencement of employment; and
- obtain or hold a current Working with Children Check.
- hold full, non-practising or provisional registration with the Teacher Registration Board (TRB), or be eligible for full, non-practising or provisional registration prior to commencement of the position. TRAINING
Employees will be required to:
- complete the Department’s induction program within three months of commencement; and
- complete any training specific to this role required by Departmental policy.
